Opera For Us
cultivating melanated opera lovers through song, storytelling, and education.

Opera For Us, a groundbreaking nonprofit founded by opera singer Denise Battle, was created to break barriers by educating and exposing black and brown communities to opera as an enjoyable art form, storytelling avenue, and inclusive means of expression, beyond its portrayal as an exclusive experience in the arts industry.

"Destini brings perspective on another level for me and my business. Sometimes as entrepreneurs we get stuck on just one way of thinking or looking at things and don’t realize how that can be limiting for one’s vision. Destini helped me see not only the vision of my business, but how I can combine that with other strong skill sets, talents and experiences I have to expand our offerings and diversify our revenue sources."

“Rarely does one get to witness such commitment, passion and creative thinking in a team member and leader. Ms. Harrell shows up, goes above and beyond and often finds creative solutions to organizational problems. The connections she brings to our Foundation and her vision for bettering this region is inspiring and invaluable.”
